Many individuals are not aware why the grass has the green color and rose has the red one. The theory is quite simple. The green pigments are responsible for absorbing colors of the sun but not the green light. Therefore, this is the reason why you will always see the green hue in grass. The same thing applies to rose flowers. Red pigments absorb all the colors and not the red one.

Various wheels are used to describe the theory. The normal colors include blue, green, yellow, orange, violet, and red. However, there is an advanced wheel which explains the theory of having four more colors. The additional four colors make the total of 10 colors. They may include, blue, red-violet, green, blue-violet, violet, yellow-green, blue-green, yellow-red, red, and yellow.

Colors are categorized into various divisions. They include primary, secondary, tertiary, analogous, and complimentary colors. Examples of primary colors are blue, yellow, and red. These are the base where other colors emerge from. When you mix two primary colors you get a secondary one. Secondary colors are violet, green, and orange. For instance, green comes from mixing yellow and blue colors while violet is from red and blue.

For you to get tertiary colors, you will have to combine secondary and primary together. You can decide to mix blue and green to come up with blue-green. Complimentary colors refer to those that are not closely related. In the wheel of colors, they are opposite each other. They may either be blue and green or red and green. Analogous are those that resemble. They are in the same side of the wheel. They include red-violet or red-violet.

Words like value, intensity, and hue should be understood so that you can comprehend more about colors. Hue is another simpler word of tint. The word is not too technical and it can be used by ordinary individuals out there. Colors like aqua and pink are described to be having high values. Colors like maroon and navy are regarded as colors having low values. On the other hand, intensity is well described when it comes to brightness and saturation of different colors. Normally, it is used in describing the purity of colors.

Temperature is a factor that can affect temperature. Some colors are warm while others are cool. Good examples of cool ones are orange, yellow, and red. The warm colors are green and violet. The difference between the two is that cool colors may recede whereas the warm may advance.
