With all the hustle and bustle going on in present societies it is no surprise that a person gets tired at the end of a working day. Rest is needed and food is required to replenish the spent energy. Periodic rest periods during the week give ample time for relaxation with blood relatives. Leisure time is spent doing various activities that give positive vibes.

Contingent upon the nature of an individual, hobbies are plentiful. Reading is one of them. But mostly it involves pleasurable experience and a feeling of accomplishment. This is true especially for hobbies that are timeless. Bonsai gardening is becoming popular as a person learns how to control plant growth by means of wires and branch cutting.

Ancient peoples translated what it admired in nature by drawing it. The earliest known example of this are the cave painting found in the Iberian Peninsula. This progressed with the addition of pigments that gave life to the representations. During the middle ages techniques were perfected by masters who studied materials and methods for painting.

The most common subject in painting always has something to do with the natural world. Beautiful sceneries captivated the attention and the desire to copy it found full expression during the renaissance period. Great painting works were done during this period. At present these masterpieces are so expensive that only museums and super rich private collectors can acquire it.

The disadvantage of drawings and painting is that what one sees is not exactly how one perceives it. Perception plays a key role in portraying renditions of events and sceneries. The time it takes to setup the implements is also very lengthy. The work itself can take days or even months and years as in fresco renditions.

Along came the camera and everything change. Events and special occasions can now be captured in seconds. Early cameras were bulky and very expensive as it was still not mass produced. The system involved stands, fireworks, and film held in place inside the box with arranged lenses that captured light and imagery. Early photographs were in white and black.

Modern cameras are highly sophisticated devices with replaceable lenses and microprocessors. Storage has increased a thousand fold with the use of memory chips that store digital data. Film is no longer a necessity in image reproduction. The youth of today make use of cellular phones and other media to capture faces and posting it on the net. It can be copied easily using computer programs.
