One actor whom has graced the stage at Julliard and will continue to do so during the coming season will moving on to greener pastures following graduation. For, while originally from Phoenix, Arizona, the actor, singer and director is now based in New York City. As such, once having graduated in May, the actor, director and musician will begin work with the chamber project shortly thereafter.
One independent project which Stoddard created and continues to operate is OperaCamp, a new opera lab where students can develop new operas over the course of a semester or year. The camp is open to all students at the school regardless of division, class year or area of interest. While the opera opened in 2018 and had an outstanding year, members of the 2019 camp are hopeful to surpass the six original operas created during the 2018 camp.
When asked what Stoddard's favorite theater and opera credits to date were, the answers were minimal compared to the number of productions with which the student has been associated. Nonetheless, the answers included productions such as Father Comes Home From The Wars, one of the actor's most recent works in which Philip played a colonel, title roles of King Lear and Woyzeck, Mozart's Don Giovanni and Tommy Albright in Brigadoon At The Chautaugua Institution.
While music and theater arts are definitely the favorite of Stoddard's interest and hobbies, Philip also enjoys organic farming, volunteering, teaching, yoga, traveling and cooking. Whereas, becoming involved in organizations such as the Israeli Chamber Project where Stoddard will perform with other soloists as a guest artist is also an opportunity Stoddard looks forward to a great deal.
